Michael Stevens is an accomplished composer, producer, keyboardist and guitarist.

Music was always a part of Michael’s life – he started playing the piano at the age of 5, and by the time he was 17 he left his home to study classical guitar with the renowned Cuban guitarist Juan Mercadal. Early in his career, he met bassist Kyle Eastwood at the University of Southern California, and they began writing original music together.

They recorded and produced their first album in 1988, titled Magnetic Vacation. By 1990, Eastwood and Stevens co-composed a song for the Warner Brothers film The Rookie, which marked the beginning of Michael’s career in film music.

In 1990, Michael began working with film composer Hans Zimmer. Over the next six years, Michael performed, produced and recorded his music on more than 20 films, including the Academy Award winning film The Lion King.

In 1998, Stevens landed a development deal as a recording artist with DreamWorks and signed a publishing deal with Chrysalis Music as a songwriter.

In 2004, he regrouped with Kyle Eastwood to produce and co-write what would become Eastwood’s critically acclaimed album Paris Blue. The duo continued working together, contributing songs to the blockbuster films Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Flags of Our Fathers, Gran Torino, and most recently Invictus. Michael and Kyle landed a Chicago Film Critics Association Award nomination for the original score for Clint Eastwood’s Letters From Iwo Jima.
